Plenty of Oriental Honey Buzzards (Pernis ptilorhynchus) have been moving south lately. I spent some time watching them from the top of an Oreum and counted over 130 on Saturday. On Sunday, I saw another 130 from Mara-do. The Korean name, 벌매, is kind of neat because I believe it translates to Bee Falcon, which describes their eating habits well. Apparently they raid wasp and bee nests for larvae.
