A daytrip to Mara-do on May 6th. The weather was overcast and a bit windy, and the birds were everywhere. This really felt like peak migration time, with nearly everything out and about on the island, feeding and fueling up to continue their long ardous journey to their breeding grounds. Highlights included my first Bluethroat for Jeju (a bird I hadn't seen since 2019), beautiful views of a Wryneck, and my long-awaited lifer Daurian Starling (although not the best views, I'll still take it).

A resident dog on the island, this fella was born on Dok-do, believe it or not. Even has a certificate to prove it! |
