Mara-do on May 11th. I think the birding on this day exceeded that of the previous visit on May 6th, if that's possible. Fantastic views of Grey Nightjars, Orioles, Cuckoos, and a Black-winged Cuckooshrike (another lifer tick) that was hanging around the island for a few days. While all those were fantastic, my favourite sighting was a Black-capped Kingfisher, seen on some forest edge briefly, before it flew off deep into the thicket. I had been looking for that species for a long time, and it was nice to get one locally without having to fly to the mainland in hot and humid summer to see one.
